About the event
We are participating our 2nd of 3 Heal the Bay's Adopt-A-Beach program where we clean up Santa Monica's Ocean Park (station 26) beach. Participants will learn about ocean pollution, collect trash and data, and learn ways to lessen our environmental footprint. We'll report back to Heal the Bay, where they use the data collected to support environmental legislation and advocate for healthier waterways. We are very excited to contribute to the health of Santa Monica Bay and the people who enjoy it and cannot wait to have you join in on the impact!
WHAT TO EXPECT: Bring your energy and enthusiasm for making a difference! We will provide supplies but if you have your own reusable buckets or gloves, bring them. Also check the weather.
WHAT TO BRING: Be prepared with sunscreen, sunglasses, hats, CLOSED TOE SHOES (safety first), and a water bottle (stay hydrated).
